Last session of a quiet week in the markets. Ibex reacts and opens 0.4% up, rising to 9,449. This Friday, as a preview of the results season, JP Morgan, Wells Fargo and Bank of America will publish their figures in US, in a day where we will also know there the confidence index of Michigan University from January or the December retail sales.
The week has been characterized by a drop in the indexes, especially in Dow Jones, which has moved away from the 20,000 points (yesterday closed at 19,891, with a fall of 0.32%) and also in Ibex, which has also been moving away from the 9,500 (although yesterday managed to finish the day over the 9,400, with a slight drop of 0.01%).
It should also be noted that, as far as the American industrial index is concerned, it is dangerously approaching the support zone of 19,718 points. "Piercing this support could be the prelude to a major corrective movement," warns José María Rodríguez, Bolsamania Analyst.
Next to the banking sector, with the results in the United States, this Friday the automotive sector should also attract attention after the latest news about Fiat. The US Environmental Protection Agency has accused the automaker of illegally using hidden software to distort diesel emissions from its cars, in line with what Volkswagen did.
