In Asia, stocks have experienced a day of contained falls. On the centenary of the Communist Party, Chinese President Xi Jinping today warned that foreign forces trying to intimidate the nation "will receive a blow to the head," and hailed a "new world" created by his people.
"Anyone who dares to try to do it (intimidate the Chinese people) will find their head slammed against the Great Wall of steel forged by more than 1.4 billion Chinese," he said, drawing applause from an invited audience of 70,000. people gathered in the huge Tiananmen Square.
TIME FOR ACCIONA ENERGÍA
Acciona Energía, Acciona's renewables subsidiary, opens on the Continuous Market this Thursday at 12 noon. It will jump onto the market at a price of 26.73 euros per share, in the lower part of the indicative range.
The president of Acciona, José Manuel Entrecanales, acknowledged this Wednesday that the price is not the "optimal" and that the fault of its being so tight is due to regulatory uncertainty in Spain, inflationary tensions and saturation of IPOs in the market.
The performance of Acciona Energía in its stock market debut will be a good indicator to check if there is indeed fatigue around renewables and if it is possible to speak of a scenario of a bubble burst in the sector.
From a business point of view, Spain is also following what is happening with CaixaBank and its negotiations with the unions, which continue today. The entity announced yesterday a reduction of the exits by the ERE to 6,452 people and the withdrawal of the force. However, it still appears that an agreement has not been reached with the unions.
OIL, IN FOCUS
Crude oil rises moderately at this time on Thursday (Brent Barrel: $ 74.88; WT Barrel: $ 73.80) while waiting to know the conclusions of the OPEC + meeting that is held today in Vienna. Analysts expect producers to debate a further increase in production for August, although they remain cautious about how much any increase will amount to.
"Market watchers believe the group will not rush easing with a big figure," says Stephen Brennock of broker PVM. "A lower-than-expected return on oil should ensure that the market continues to reduce inventories."
On the other hand, it should be remembered that today the manufacturing PMIs for June in Europe and the US are published and that investors will be very aware of this reference.
