GLAAD Media Awards 2021: Star Trek: Discovery, I May Destroy You and Schitt’s Creek entre las series ganadoras

Schitt’s Creek ha sido la Mejor comedia televisiva en los GLAAD Media Awards de este año , que reconocen la imparcialidad, la precisión y la inclusión, audacia, originalidad, impacto y calidad general de las representaciones LGBTQ en los medios.

Star Trek: Discovery , que en la temporada 3 presentó a sus primeros personajes no binarios y transgénero (interpretados respectivamente por Blu del Barrio e Ian Alexander), y I May Destroy You, a su vez, se llevaron los premios al mejor drama y serie limitada.

De cara a la ceremonia de este año (que se llevó a cabo virtualmente y se transmitió en YouTube), Netflix aparentemente lideró el grupo de «TV» con 26 nominados en total, aunque muchos de sus contendientes aterrizaron en categorías de películas. HBO Max acumuló nueve nominaciones, seguido de HBO, Amazon y Hulu (que obtuvieron cuatro cada una).

Entre las cadenas de transmisión, solo ABC y NBC obtuvieron múltiples nominaciones, con dos cada una.
