After a very 'warm' start to the week, there was nothing to foresee that the European stock exchanges would be encouraged as they have done as the days progressed. Or was there. Because the strong start to the year on Wall Street, with consecutive historical highs and the Dow Jones exceeding 25,000 points for the first time in its history, is serving as an incentive, no doubt, for the seats of the Old Continent. The increases continue this Friday and the Ibex now adds 0.94% up and trades at 10,411.40 points. The index has amounted a 3.65% revaluation in the week, its best start to the year since 2003 when it rose over 5%.

The Ibex is supported this Friday to rise in Mapfre (+2.14%), that has recieved a positive recommendation from JP Morgan. Also to be highlighted the rises in Amadeus (+2.72%), that has listed historical highs, Mediaset España (+2.67%), Meliá Hotels (+2.16%) and Grifols (+2.15%).

The main blue chip that has contributed to the Index increases has been Inditex (+2%) that was bested by Santander (+0.66%) as the most valuable company of the Ibex. Another freat value that has registered a positive session is Iberdrola, it has revalued itself in 1.14%, followed by Telefónica (+0.76%) and BBVA (+0.44%).

In red, very few values. ArcelorMittal (-0.92%) has been the lowest value, followed by Endesa (-0.08%), Abertis (-0.05%) and Acerinox (-0.04%). In the continuous market, Duro Felguera continues with its particular rollercoaster and falls a 14% after soaring a 40% last Thursday. In green Oryzon Genomics goes up a 13%, Natra an 8% and Azkoyen a 6%.

REPSOL AND PETROL

Repsol, one of the architects of the 2% rise that the index registered on Thursday, has calmed down this Friday (+0.22%) with the petrol correction. At this time, the Brent and the West Texas have fallen a 0.8% although the first is still over 67 dollars (67.50) and the second is close with 62 dollars (61.44).

Crude oil is rising strongly at this beginning of the year, "fueled" by tensions in Iran and the possibility that these will end up affecting the activity of one of the main producers of OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries). Some analysts are beginning to adjust their predictions about the price of oil and some people are talking about seeing 80 dollars this year is not at all unreasonable. The 'black gold' did not register these prices since mid-2015.

EMPLOYMENT IN THE US AND CURRENT AFFAIRS

On their part, the markets already have the employment data of the US. The country's economy created this December 148,000 job placements underneath the 190,000 that were expected. The unemployment rate has mantained at 4.1% and the average wage per hour has gone up a 0.3% in line with its previsions. Another data to be highlighted of the session has been the inflation of the Euro Zone this December that has moderated to 1.4%.

As for the rest, and in the 'local' political sphere, the Supreme Court has decided that Oriol Junqueras, former vice president of the Generalitat, should remain in jail. In addition, at the international level, there is talks of the meeting, scheduled for next January 9, between South Korea and North Korea to raise the participation of the second in the Olympic Games.
