The Ibex, one step away from achieving (finally) closing the week above 10,600
Investors are very aware this Friday of what Donald Trump has to say from Davos
- To leave behind the 10,600 with a sufficient filter, the Ibex would go for the 11,185
It is one step away from finishing the week above the key level of 10,600 points. However, the Ibex quotes this Friday flat and with few forces (-0.14%, 10,580 points), with all banks pulling the selective down. Acerinox, Bankinter, CaixaBank or Sabadell are among those that fall most of the index at the moment.
This Friday, the clear protagonists are three: the euro, the dollar and Donald Trump. The president of the United States is in Davos, where he will appear at 2:00 p.m. However, he has already spoken in different frameworks from Switzerland and his words, as always, have not caused indifference. Returning to a speech not so distant, Trump has said, in statements to CNBC, that the United States wants a strong dollar.
The euro stands at this hour at 1.2443 dollars while it remains very aware of more statements by the president of the United States from Switzerland. Meanwhile, in equities, Wall Street closed on Thursday with further increases (Dow Jones: + 0.21%, S & P: + 0.44%, Nasdaq: + 0.55%) and in Asia there has also been a predominance clear of the hikes this morning.
With regard to the agenda of the day, from the business point of view, today there are no results in Spain. Yes, investors are still very aware of the banks after Bankinter Thursday shot up after posting record figures in 2017 and that CaixaBank marked record highs. The banks remain strong, which is vital for the Ibex, although this Friday they are retreating. It is worth remembering that next Monday, January 29, Bankia presents its figures, while Wednesday will be Santander, Thursday, BBVA, and Friday. Sabadell and CaixaBank.
