The Ibex closed this Friday with a rise of 2.52% and goes over 8,700 points (8,737). Looking at the whole week, the Ibex has made a rebound of 2.87%.Europe has also rebounded today over 2%, after falling yesterday due to Apple's profit warning.

The day was marked this Friday by the publishing of several macro data of interest that will close an intense week in the global stock markets, which has shown that the main concern now is a possible slowdown of the Chinese economy. The December employment report in the United States was published today, with nonfarm payrolls data well above expectations (312,000 versus the estimate of 177,000). The unemployment rate, for its part, has risen to 3.9% from 3.7%.

In the Euro Zone, the December CPI slowed down more than had been predicted (1.6% vs. 1.8%). On the other hand, the PMI services in the Euro Zone have come out, in general, worse than expected. The composite PMI of the Euro Zone for the month of December has revealed a slowdown in growth and has fallen to its lowest level in four years.

At the same time, the attention this weekend has been on Jerome Powell, president of the Federal Reserve (Fed), who has appeared with his predecessors, Janet Yellen and Ben Bernanke, in a round table. During his speech, he commented that "the economic data in the US continue to be solid", so he has not been concerned about the health of the US economy. On the other hand, he has answered "no" to the question of whether he would resign at the request of President Trump.

The sensations are still pessimistic, but it is true that when pessimism is so dominant is when rebounds tend to arrive. Craig Erlam, an analyst at Oanda, explains that investors continue to decide at the start of the year "whether the markets are vulnerable or cheap".

COMPANIES AND OTHER MARKETS

Within the Ibex 35, only Red Eléctrica closed the session in red, although with a slight loss of 0.03%. The biggest increases were for ArcelorMittal (6.43%) and Ence (6.02%). The podium is completed by Cie Automotive, with a 5.77% rebound.

Among the business news of the day highlights Inditex (3.53%), which has received a purchase recommendation and a target price of 32 euros, compared to the 22.89 euros in which ended this Friday, by RBC.

On this weekend, it should also be noted that oil has experienced an equally buoyant and volatile start to the year, in which production updates from Russia and the United States were counteracted by reports that Saudi Arabia will reduce its exports. At the close of the Ibex, the barrel of Brent, a benchmark in Europe, traded at 1.72% to 56.79 dollars.
