Mitsubishi celebra su centenario convirtiendo en híbrido su clásico primer modelo
El fabricante japonés ha considerado que una fiesta de cumpleaños no es suficiente para celebrar un siglo de existencia, así que se ha decidido a impresionarnos a todos con la reconstrucción del primer vehículo de pasajeros de su historia, el clásico Mitssubishi A, dotado esta vez de un motor híbrido enchufable.
Si Japón es, como se suele decir, la perfecta conjunción entre la tradición y la modernidad, el nuevo (¿o deberíamos decir «viejo»?) modelo de Mitsubishi es el mejor ejemplo que podemos encontrar, aunque la verdad es que de entrada resulta un poco chocante: todas las ruedas motrices, enchufe y sistema híbrido para un coche que fue diseñado y construido por primera vez en el año 1917.
Para casar todas las piezas del puzzle y resucitar el Mitsubishi A con sus nuevas características, los japoneses han recurrido a la ayuda de especialistas, en concreto de los ingenieros y mecánicos de West Coast Customs. Ellos han sido los encargados de dotar a este clásico moderno de la plataforma del vehículo eléctrico híbrido enchufable Outlander (PHEV). Así, el nuevo Mitsubishi A viene con un motor de gasolina de 2.0 litros, dos motores eléctricos y una batería de iones de litio de 12 kilovatios/hora.
De momento no tenemos más datos y en cuanto a imágenes, no nos queda más remedio que tirar de las fotos del clásico. Eso sí, este nuevo Mitsubishi A enchufable va a ser muy interesante cuando esté terminado.
